Downstairs Living Room
The downstairs is a complete living unit, living room, bath, bedroom and
kitchen. It makes a great mother-in-law home, teenager "pad", or guest
suite.
The
living room in this area is a good size for a living room or a pool table could be put
here and this room turned into a game room.

To the
south the walls go out into a V shape. There are large windows and two
French doors which lend a lot of light to this area. This lower level,
(some would mistakenly call a basement), is indeed, far from dreary.
The French doors can both be opened to enjoy the inside and the outside as
well. |
These doors lead out to the covered veranda and to
two delightful water gardens just off the veranda.
| The east side of the room has a
built-in entertainment center. It will hold a 50" television set and
all the equipment that goes with it. On the north side of the
entertainment center are shelves built to hold DVD's. This is great
for enjoying popcorn and a movie. |
 |
To the
west is the galley kitchen and southwest has a lovely petite eating, or game
playing, area. Windows flank the table and a ceiling
fixture sheds light to the area. This is a perfect dinette area, or a
great place for playing a game, be it cards or Monopoly. And, ever so
convenient, there is even a built-in coffee maker built-in the wall next to the table.
|
The
marvelous fireplace in this room is a gas, glass, four sided fireplace that
can be enjoyed from all angles. It rests on a large rock hearth and is
flanked by two large stone pillars. Above the fireplace are tiles with
low level lights behind them. They present a graceful monarch
butterfly attending to a flower. |
 |
Both sides of the
fireplace are flanked by two lovely water fountains. These fountains make
the sound of a stream flowing in the woods. A very relaxing and enjoyable
sound.
 |
Another added feature is
the Wine Cellar. This is described under Wine Cellar. However,
from living area, you can see the beautiful door that protects this area.
Lights shining through this door adds more ambience to the room. |
You can
see that this area could be very romantic. Using the fireplace, the lovely
sounding fountains, the low lights from the wine cellar and the low butterfly
lights would be relaxing and romantic, making this a very lovely place indeed.
The floor is etched concrete with a dramatic design. Throw rugs placed strategically around the room make
it very cozy.
|
 |
The room
has unusual ceiling fans. There are lights above and below the blades.
However, these are not ordinary lights. They are colored neon lights.
Talk about ambiance. With the neon lights and the fireplace going,
romance is in the air. |
 |
Other
lighting is there, when needed. There is the track lighting above the bar,
can lights across the north side, and a light over the dinette.
|
As an added note, most of
the doors on this floor are antique. These are some lovely examples.
There are two of these on this level. They were once pocket doors that
have been changed to traditional. Lovely. |
