French Bedroom
|
 |
From the hall you notice a
remarkable door that has lovely oval beveled glass. This is the door
to the French bedroom. |
 |
As
with most of the rooms in the manor, the ceiling is unique. The ceiling is slanted
and draped with off-white Turkish silk purchased directly from Turkey. It
covers the ceiling in soft folds. You imagine that looking at it from bed,
it would look similar to a soft billowy cloud.
|
 |
In the center of the ceiling is
a, rather large, very intricate, brass ceiling medallion. From the center of the medallion
an elegant ceiling fan, with light lovely lights, seems to float just under the "clouds".
French shades adorn fan. |
On the
north wall is a large window that overlooks the lovely front gardens.
As you gaze out the large window, you see the front
gardens. Beyond that are the woods. Beauty abounds. You feel
secluded and secure.
| Notice
in the picture that the front wall is also covered entirely with the same Turkish silk as the ceiling.
And the large window is draped with the lovely soft silk. The
silk and the color of the walls are the same. It’s a beautiful off-white,
definitely not hospital white. This color is, like the silk, very soft, very warm,
very luxurious! |
 |
To the west stand magnificent double doors, with
unusual shutters.
 |
These grand doors came from a large
hacienda in Brazil. |
The south wall is the perfect place for a chest or dresser.
|
The south wall has only the
doorway to the hall. Therefore it is a perfect place to put
your unit of storage, dresser, chest, or whatever else you dream up. |
 |
 |
The
east wall has antique pocket doors that open to the clothes closet.
Although not
large, it is ample enough and even has shelves built into the left hand side for
storage. There is even a small safe hidden in here. The picture to the
right shows the striking pocket doors. These came out of a
southern mansion in Alabama.

What
a quaint, delightful
bedroom. Family or friends will love this room.
France would be
envious!
