Master Bedroom
The Master Suite goes from the front of the home
all the way to the back. Located across the east side, it is a beautiful
place to watch the sunrise. And, from the deck, one can also watch the sun
set. The moon can be seen at night, even in bed, through the top windows
of the beautiful French doors. It is separated from the rest of this floor by the gallery, making
it a private retreat. The suite is very spacious, taking up this entire
end of the home.
You enter the bedroom via a beautiful stained glass
door. This door was built to be a front door, complete with sidelights.
However, again, the designer has come up with an original use for the door and
sidelights. The door is, naturally, in the doorway. However, the
sidelights, with matching stained glass, have been put in the walls of the hall
leading to the bedroom. Lights have been put behind these. Soft
lights will lead you to this haven of rest.
The east side of the bedroom has two large windows for a wonderful
view of the land to the east. These windows border the area where the bed
awaits a peaceful nights sleep. Above this area, in the ceiling, two can lights have been
placed to give ample reading light.
The south wall has a pair
of beautiful, antique-arched, French Doors with sidelights and a transom.
These doors were rescued from New Orleans just before the devastating Hurricane.
These doors lead out to a private balcony.
Walking out onto the balcony, three stories
high, you know this surreptitious bedroom is like living in the tree tops.
So high you feel like you can see what the birds see. Peaceful, you are
away from everything. The balcony overlooks the lake, rolling hills, and
woods. This is truly Fung Shui. Water, wind, air, peace abounds.
The rescued door is flanked by two large windows. Plenty of light is let
into this room.

 |
These unusual
balcony doors are bi-fold with a beautiful arched transom at the top.
What really makes these doors special is the fact that they were once home
in a large southern plantation in New Orleans. They were purchased just
before Hurricane Katrina swept through. The designer feels that,
somehow, they were rescued from the catastrophe that happened to that grand
city because they belonged here. They too would have been lost
had they been in the storms way. |
 |
Dressing the windows are remote controlled real wood
blinds. The French Doors are dressed with vertical blinds. A private deck awaits you just outside
these beautiful New Orleans's French Doors. The view is
spectacular!
The west wall has a door opening that leads to a
closet.
|
Behind this unusual door is a
large walk-in gentlemen’s wardrobe. (Notice the pull chair
instead of a door handle.) |
 |
It is spacious enough to
hold shoes, boots, shirts,
pants, everything a gentleman needs. Rods can hold ties and belts.
 |
The bed rests on the east wall.
There is plenty of room for a king size bed, end tables and still
plenty of room on both sides. You can have as large a headboard as you
like. The one in the picture was designed by the owner.
It is made from two antique doors. As you lay in bed, you will
look up and see the beautiful stained glass butterflies flying
overhead. What a place to relax! |
Directly across from the bed is a built-in
entertainment center.
 |
This space is large enough to hold a large screen television set and
has a place built-in to hold your DVD player & satellite box.
Underneath are drawers on both sides and in the center is a cooler
to keep drinks within close reach. Relax, watch TV and enjoy a
nice cold drink.
|
 |
There is ample room
in front of the entertainment center to place a couple of comfortable chairs
with a chair table in between.
|
 |
Reclining in bed, or sitting in your
favorite chair, how fitting is that? |
 |
 |
Next to the entertainment center is a small cove put here just for the
ladies.
|
 |
Lights surround a large mirror
so makeup can be applied exactly as desired without straining to see.
There are drawers in which to place needed items. Drawers to keep the things a lady
loves to have close so she can use when needed. Her private place so
she can enjoy her time at becoming even more beautiful without someone
being in her way. Wonderful! |
 |
The north wall has a doorway that leads to the master
bath. Left open at this point, a door could easily be added if one so
desired.
|
Beside the doorway is a stunning
see-through fireplace. The surround for the fireplace was custom
designed and built. It is truly a one of a kind.
|
 |
And, as with most of the ceilings in this home, this
exquisite
ceiling is an extraordinary work of art. Handsome beams cross the room.
Wood flanks the outside edges of the beams. Two distinctive ceiling fans.
|
 |
Two beautiful Oak leaf fans are
suspended above the room. They offer bright light when needed and
offer a gentle breeze upon request. |
Beauty in and of itself. However, the area
between the three beams is very unusual, very stunning. Mirrored stainless steel
runs the entire length between the three beams This is designed
to reflect the area below. Rope lighting runs around the area giving off
soft mood lighting. But the amazing, and absolutely dramatic area is the center
of this area.
In the center of the beams there
are two stained glass windows exclusively designed and created for this area.
They contain flowers and, naturally, butterflies. Soft lighting shows this
fresco of glass off to perfection. Absolutely stunning, beautiful and delightful!
You'll
feel like a sovereigns in this fantastic bedroom!
