Surrounding Areas of Interest

Here you will find listed areas of interest that are around Butterfly Springs.  On the land you are secluded.  However, there are plenty of places to go, depending on your mood.

You may want to go antique shopping in Hardy or Mountain Home.  Go to Mountain View and listen to real country music played by the locals and visitors.

In less than two hours you can be in the historic city of Memphis, TN.  You can stroll down world famous Beale Street and listen to the blues.  Take a tour of the Elvis EstateVisit Libertyville Amusement Park and ride the Zippin Pippin (Elvis’s favorite ride).  See the Pyramid Arena.  Learn how whiskey is made at the Jack Daniels Distillery. (Yes, there are free samples.)  See a play at the historic Orpheum Theater Eat any type of cuisine you happen to be in the mood for.

Travel to Eureka Springs and see the New York production of the Passion Play.  While there, be sure to go through the replica of the famous country of Israel.  Many years in the designing and building, and not finished yet, this is truly amazing to see what they have done on a miniature scale.  Eureka Springs is known as little Italy with it's winding streets and homes that seem to set precariously on the sides of the hills.  Have dinner on an antique steam engine.  Lots of fun things to do here.

Go to Branson, MO and take in their shows.  This small Ozark Mountain town is fast becoming an area to visit from all over the world.  Shows of all types are readily available.  A lake is close by for you to enjoy.  You can even take a boat ride and get a show all at the same time.  The country is beautiful and the atmosphere is excellent.  You'll not find any better anywhere.

Take a trip to Hot Springs, AR and visit the sites of this old historic town.  Many of the old bath houses have been reopened.  So, be sure to take a Hot Springs Bath while you are there.  The water that has been known for its healing properties for many years.  Visit the horse races and watch the horses compete.

Be sure to travel to the Crater of Diamonds state park.  It's the only place on the North American continent where you will find diamonds.  (They say you have a better chance of finding one after a big rain.)

Take a trip across the state to the historic old west town of Fort Smith where you can see first hand where the "hangin' judge" did all his hanging.

And, there's river and lakes in abundance to enjoy.  Fishing, boating, skiing, etc.

What a wonderful place.  Your own private estate, yet still close to any activity you desire.
